Tuesday I got to see the doctor. She asked me why I hadn't taken off my stickers on my right breast yet. I told her that the tech told me they needed it, so I wanted to double check. She said "I'm the doctor, and I say they can be removed." I thought that was a little abrasive. I then proceeded to inform her about my sun burnt armpit, my headaches and my relentlessly aching back. I showed her where it hurts, and she said it's my ribs. So she says "you need either an x-ray or bone scan. How do you want to proceed?" Without trying to be a smart ass, I said "I don't know, you're the doctor, what should I do?" She suggested an x-ray. The order for the x-ray says I have breast cancer on it, which made me nervous. I was too upset when I left to do the x-ray that day. What if the cancer has spread to my bones? I'm going to be pissed! Meanwhile I'm freaked out...
Wednesday I got my usual spa treatment and a few pictures taken, but it still only took 20 minutes. When I lay there now, I kinda take a power nap. They haven't had music playing in a long time, so I literally twitch because I start to drift off. I went to get my stupid x-ray today. The tech was taken aback by my expanders because it looks like I have nipples in the x-ray, haha! Anyway, the doc is on vacation next week, so hopefully I hear something about the x-ray results this week.
Thursday I went in at 7:45 but they didn't see me until 8. I had to rush to get back to work by 8:34 (when 2nd period starts). I barely made it, which was stressful. At the game I wore a lot of sunblock and a ridiculous sun hat. I am avoiding the sun at all costs since it intensifies the effects of the radiation and I'm already looking naturally sunburnt (according to a girl in my 6th period class).
Friday I went in at 7:10 because they wanted to get all of their appointments done with early so they could go get their 3 day weekend started. They were blaring Red Hot Chili Peppers, a pleasant surprise. I too will enjoy a 3 day break, including a mini break from radiation. Sadly though, no x-ray results. I'm just going to tell myself no news is good news so I don't dwell on it.
I got this quote from the DWBHshirts.com facebook page:
"The time to relax is when you don't have time for it." -Sydney Harris
I'm going to make this my motto this 3 day weekend. Rather than spend the entire time grading 4 periods worth of essays, I'm going to try and RELAX. Because Lord knows I need to...
