Monday the 10th I was so tired in the morning before work that I accidentally rubbed hair product on my sunburn. Yeouch. It hurt even more when I realized what I had done and I tried to rub it off. Ugh. I have been feeling more and more lately like I am losing brain power. I can hardly keep up. After work that day I got a call from Dr. Link's office saying my test results were much better... a 3.8 for my potassium level. Guess we can at least scratch that one from the worry list.
I had a Herceptin infusion on Wednesday the 19th. I only have a few more left then I'm done. (11/9, 11/30, 12/21, and 1/11). I was worried I wasn't going to be able to be treated because I was getting over a cold. While I was there, I also got my right breast filled with 25 more cc's. So now I'm at 450 and 475. I talked to Donna during my infusion (the chemotherapy PA) and she says the neratinib trial is closed, so I don't have to worry any more about whether or not I want to be a part of it. So now it's just a pill a day and herceptin every 21 days until I'm all healed up enough for implant surgery.
I came home from my appointment to my oldest daughter, Jenna, having a very high fever (103.8) and itchy spots on her skin. My husband stayed home with her on Thursday to take her to the doctor. The spots spread all over her body- head to toe. He said she had an allergic reaction, possibly to her fever or the virus she got. Her spots are hives, which is scary, because I have no idea what she's allergic to. When she's all better we will find out. Meanwhile, she's taking a lot of acetaminophen, benedryl and naps. I took today off to stay home and take care of her. I just really hope I don't catch whatever bug she has. I'm guess I'm glad it wasn't chicken pox like we originally thought, because that would be a mess. She is really sad she missed her first ever field trip to the pumpkin patch. We will have to make it up to her, somehow.
My sunburn is pretty much all peeled away now. My skin is discolored, but no longer red. I am on the other side now, with only a daily pill and infusions every 21 days until January 11th. That's ironic because January 11th 2011 is the day I was officially diagnosed, and January 11th 2012 is the official day I'll be done with treatments (other than my pill- but that doesn't really count because I'll be on that for 5 years). Don't Worry Be Happy Shirts continues to support me, and just made a $750 payment on my Breastlink bill. In other news, Bria is officially potty trained. I think that's all of the latest!
