I finally finished the written part of my UCLA interview on 12/20. Only took me 3 weeks to gather the courage to write honestly about my feelings. I'm always nervous they are going to turn me into the loony bin after reading those things! I guess I finally had the time now that I'm enjoying 3 weeks off from work. Woohoo!
12/21 was a Herceptin treatment. They told me that at my next appointment on 1/11 I will get to see Dr. Link and schedule my scan. Finally! On the way home from that treatment I got to pick up the gifts from DWBH. They really hooked it up! The girls got everything they wanted, and then some! We didn't have to buy a thing. They even sent us $200 in Stater Bros gift cards so we could buy groceries. A special thanks to those that helped donate to the foundation, and who bought shirts to give as Christmas gifts. It has been such a blessing to our family.
12/22 was a physical therapy appointment. I have had physical therapy 4 times (12/2, 12/8, 12/14, 12/22) and this week we will do two more and then I will be done. I already feel a major difference. My arm still hurts when I stretch it all the way, but I can definitely stretch it further than ever before! And apparently my lymphedema has improved, but I wouldn't have noticed. I'm supposed to be getting a compression sleeve to wear soon, but I probably won't use it much.
This year we got to host our own Christmas dinner. It was great to not have to drive anywhere, and I love having people over! The girls were spoiled rotten. They got plenty to play with, which is good because now our final 2 weeks off together should be a little easier. With new toys to play with, they can't claim to be bored anymore! Speaking of playing, I've gotta go- we are about to start a serious game of chutes and ladders :-)
