As soon as I left, I called the PA at Dr. Link's office and left a message. I said I really wanted to get my results before the weekend. I threw in the birthday card and said "I'm turning 31 tomorrow and I don't want to spend the weekend stressing over it." I guess it worked because at around 5 pm she called me back. My heart was racing when I picked up the phone. She said "I don't have official results on paper yet, but I spoke to the radiologist doing the report and he says everything looks benign." I was so happy to hear the word benign I started to cry. I asked "then what are those spots?!" She said neither one are lighting up on the PET which means they are not malignant or over active so they are not concerned. They still want to do another bone scan in 2-3 months just to make sure the spot hasn't changed at all, just in case. She said because I'm so active it could just be a slight fracture or bone island. But as of now, it is not a concern and that's good enough for me.
I am so thankful to be turning 31 tomorrow. I am definitely going to be able to enjoy my birthday weekend knowing that I am still cancer free.
