Today I had a follow up with my radiation oncologist. The nurse said I was running a fever (99.7), which I thought was weird but maybe I'm fighting off something. Then the doctor came in and inquired about all of my recent scans, so I filled her in on that drama. She also said everything looked good and to continue putting lotion on my dry spot in my armpit. She kept asking if it was being caused by my deodorant, but it's only dry on the radiated side and I use Tom's, so it's definitely not deodorant related. It was a little concerning because she acted like it wasn't very normal to still have peeling skin. Oh well. She told me to keep an eye on my scar line and report any unusual bumps. Then she told me to gain about 5 lbs so my breasts would be more even! I definitely don't need to gain any weight, but I'm flattered that she seems to think I should/could. I will see her again in 6 months. My next follow up is with Dr. Link and Dr. West in January.
