I came home to a clean house, with balloons, flowers and a welcome sign. It was so nice! I also had my dad, stepmom and Chris here to help me get settled in. Chris tried to shower me and that was really painful because I was shivering and being that tense really hurts. It also hurts really bad when they clean my drains because it works like a suction, and when they strip the tube it feels like it just gets tighter. If I didn't have to breathe, this whole experience would be a lot less painful :-) But I'm being a good girl and taking my pain meds every 4 hours, taking small, slow walks into the bathroom or kitchen, and napping a lot. Once I get out of bed, I don't want to get back in it because it's hard to get in and out of it. I also really don't like breathing in my incentive spirometer, but I have to in order to expand my lungs.
The condition I am in is hard for my girls, because they want to give me big hugs and want me to hold them and I can't. Jenna really wants to see my scars, but I told her no. I don't want to freak her out. I showed her the scars in my armpits and my drains, but that's about it. If you are interested in seeing any before and after pics, email me and I can send them to you. They are a bit too shocking to put on a public blog!
